I am Walter Günzel (born 1966 in Tsumeb, Namibia) and have had a close connection to the African bush since my holidays on my grandparent's farm in the savannah area southeast of Grootfontein. I grew up and went to school in Swakopmund, where I was a member of the AG Student Survival Technique and of the local rescue service. Originally I had completed a training as an electrician and then additionally qualified myself as a travel guide.
With the foundation of the travel company Safari 24 in 2000, I turned my hobby into my profession. In 2006 I bought the company Bushlife Safaris, located in Maun, Botswana, in order to also travel inland into this African country. For this purpose, I passed the Botswana exam as a tour guide.
My wife, Jola Günzel, is the organisational director of my company. She not only manages the head office in Swakopmund, but also makes the preparations for the physical well-being of our guests.
We take you on safari with our Land Rovers. We have equipped them with refrigerators for cold water and air conditioning.
