I am Walter Günzel (born 1966 in Tsumeb, Namibia) and have had a close connection to the African bush since I spend my holidays on my grandparent's farm in the savannah area southeast of Grootfontein.

I grew up and went to school in Swakopmund, where I was a member of the AG Student Survival Technique and of the local sea rescue service. Originally, I had completed a training as an electrician and then additionally qualified myself as a tour guide.

With the foundation of the travel company Safari24 in 2000, I turned my hobby into my profession. In 2006 I bought the company Bushlife Safaris, located in Maun, Botswana, in order to also travel inland into this African country. For this purpose, I passed the Botswana exam as a tour guide.

My wife, Jola Günzel, is the organisational member of Safari24. She not only manages the head office in Swakopmund, but also makes the preparations for the physical well-being of our guests.
